SENIOR CLUB COACH CHRIS CUNNINGHAM
‘I have been coaching since 1991 following parents requests to help their children. Qualifications followed with the DCA in 1995 and the CCA in 1997 after which I became a full time coach. I have a full LTA coaching license and continue to attend courses and seminars as part of the professional CPD programme.
I have worked full time at Stowmarket Tennis Club since 2001 when the programme grew enough to need me here all the time! Previously I had been club coach with Ipswich Sports Club and the County Squads.
I have always worked with a number of different committee members, chairman, treasurers and most importantly most of the members!
As you would expect over the years we have seen a number of changes to the programme. We have enjoyed huge success at junior level and have produced more mini-tennis champions than any other club in Suffolk.
My philosophy on coaching is very simple. I believe in fun, hard work and respect for tutors and players alike. This approach is received very well by both players and parents and has produced some exceptional young tennis players over the years. Our best juniors have often progressed into county squads while I hope every player we see develops a lifelong love for the game.
In 2008, two of our juniors accepted tennis scholarships abroad.
If you would like to contact me about any aspect of coaching, then I would love to hear from you.’
See you on court!!
All activity is indoors in the airhall from end of September to the start of April.
